Operating a motor vehicle is the toughest thing you can do - because it is so easy...Yet it demands so much of us mentally...The weather, the road, the traffic, time of day, my attitude, my focus - all have to be tuned in for me to get where I want to go...If I put something in my body that dulls my senses or slows my reaction time or lets my mind wander, I am going to crash...Alcohol - even in cough medicine - is one of those substances that affects my mental well being...It is a depressant, it slows my reactions down...Ergo, if I take anything with alcohol in it, I don't drive - period.
