The American jockey Tyler Baze going through a rough patch after failing in the alcohol test
Tyler Baze, a famous American Jockey, known for his several wins, is suffering from a rough patch. The 28-year-old champion got failed at Del Mar in the breathalyzer test taken last Friday.
According to Del Mar Stewards, he has agreed for the alcohol testing and signed a legal agreement with the California Horse Racing Board.
The young star has proclaimed during his meeting with Stewards on Wednesday, that he has attended three unspecified Alcoholic meetings. The agreement which Baze has signed allows the racing board to conduct testing on regular bases.
Tyler Baze was awarded as the U.S Champion Apprentice Jockey in year 2000, he started his career in 1999 from Southern California.
In the same year, on the 31st October, Baze gained his very first victory.
In 2003, the champion jockey had to go through unwell health condition and this affected his performance but later on a new agent was hired by him and he started having a new training regime for the nourishment of his body.
This brought him back to his top level where he use to be before, he started earning numerous wins at Phoenix Arizona’s Turf Paradise and California’s Santa Anita Park.
The record setter has been lucky every year by gaining a great sum of achievements and victories.
This American jockey got a big break in year 2000 when he rode 246 winners, and was rewarded for this achievement.
On Wednesday 7:00 am the racing board investigators took a field drug test which Tyler Baze passed.
Later on, the same day, another drug test along with the breathalyzer test were taken and according to steward, Scott Chaney, results of both test came out negative.
The results showed that the breathalyzer test crossed the required limit.
During a film review session last Friday, Baze’s behavior was very uneven, due to which he was recommended to consult a physician who could subscribe him medication for the pain, which he refused to do so by saying that he is already taking pain medicine
for the lower back pain which he suffered due to the unseated position in the last match, held on the 14th August.
He was not allowed to ride in the matches held on Sunday and Saturday, this issue was resolved after a mutual agreement between Tyler Baze and Steward Scott Chaney.
The well known jockey is going through a rough patch which has not only placed a black spot on his shinning career but many hurdles are created his path.
In the past he has been going through the same alcohol and drugs issues, back in 2005, when Baze went to Hoosier Park Situated in Indiana, to participate in the stakes, breathalyzer test was taken in which he got failed.
Regardless of his personal issues, there are many trainers who are standing beside Baze to support him during this hard time, Doug O’Neill is one of them.
