The Americans are sore at Russsian actions in Georgia.?

It is obvious that the Russians do not want the US playing with missiles in their own back yard.Just as the US wouldnt allow Russian missiles in Cuba in the 60s.I am confused???

This distracts from Global Warming issues. A defence against this is what people require.  Throughout The 1970's all the while people were afraid of nukes Global Warming was there though ignored mostly.

Demolition of major airports and cars instead of anger over Georgia.

Easy to see why focus on that though.

They don't realize that Georgia did attack first.

Obama was right by not taking sides and asking both to stop the fighting so they can talk it out.

McCain has a Georgia lobbyist in his campaign. They are on the trail trying to gain support for Georgia telling people what they want them to hear.

It looks like they just want a bigger war.

It was a heads up to the former Soviet States that Russia is fantacizing about dominating them again.

The defense systems are going to be fast-tracked now.

Yup. But this time its not missiles, its expansion.

Georgia expanded into South Ossetia and killed almost 2,000 Russian citizens. Now Russia wants payback. Suddenly the US sides with the real aggressor.

Oh, there isn't any dispute that Russia doesn't like Georgia. They don't. But that's not the reason for the war.

Why is it that the US seems to believe  that the country that spawned Josef Stalin is incapable of wrong?

I would think that the Georgians that are dying are a little miffed as well. Intercontinental missiles do not have to be on your doorstep to work . And i do wish people would study there history before making assumptions there is no south Ossetia, the Osseans  are a tribe of Russians who ran over the border into Georgia in the 13th century to escape the Mongol hordes  and were allowed to stay by the Georgians they live in Georgian territory on sufferance and have tried to steal what does not rightfully belong to them.

When the US moves its missiles to Poland, the Russians will move theirs back to Cuba. Just like in the old days.

Note: They are interceptor missiles. They refer to them as the Shield for propaganda puroposes. Obviously, the propaganda works.

Georgia is far off; they couldn't care less. It's only an energetic problem for Western Europe and not more.

The Americans I know, including myself, actually side with Russia on this.

Georgia was wrong, Russia showed them how wrong.

This is a problem between the Russians and Georgians. Most Americans really don't care.
