The Anil Kumble-group wins Karnataka cricket state elections
Karnataka state association is one of the most important cricket associations in India and has produced many great cricketers in recent times. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javagal-Srinath-c66513 were two of the greats, and they have now won the right to enter the administration
and get things in order.
Kumble and Srinath won the posts of president and secretary respectively of the Karnataka State Cricket Association, while Venkatesh Prasad was appointed the vice-president of the body after the elections that were held on Sunday. The win was one-sided with
Kumble’s side winning 22 seats in all out of a maximum of 24.
Kumble’s group beat Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, a former maharaja of Mysore, and the incumbent KSCA chief in the one-sided elections. The other two vice-presidents who were selected were Roger Binny and Sadanand Mayya. Binny is a former cricketer
who used to bowl fast for India while Mayya is a Bangalore-based industrialist.
Post the win, Kumble said that the group wanted to make KSCA an association that others would like to copy. He added that while he would look to make the blueprint of what needs to change in order to realise his ambition, he also said, "The challenge is to
ensure that we deliver. We'd like to include all the members' inputs."
Kumble is the highest wicket-taker for India in Test matches and the third-highest overall behind Shane Warne and Muthiah Muralitharan. He is also the chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s National Cricket Academy.
Srinath, on the other hand, was India’s quickest bowler and spearheaded many an Indian triumph. He has been an International Cricket Council match referee for the last four years.
Prasad is the bowling coach of the defending IPL champions Chennai Super Kings, apart from having coached the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Karnataka-c801 Ranji team. Earlier, he was also the bowling coach of the Indian cricket team before being replaced by Eric Simons.
