The Argentina tennis ace, Gabriela Beatriz Sabatini
The Argentina tennis sensation Gabriela Beatriz Sabatini was born on 16th May, 1970 in the city of Buenos Aires. The girl was regarded as one of the greatest tennis players on the women’s side in the nineties. The 1.75 meters tall Sabatini triumphed in the United States Open championship back in 1990, gained a doubles title at the grass court Grand Slam tournament in the year 1988, won a total of two WTA Tour competitions back in 1988 as well as 1994 along with a silver medal at the Olympics game back in 1988. Regarded tenderly as the “ princess of Pampas”, her flexible smart game as well as appreciable charisma brought her a high fan following. She is also famous for her rivalry with Stefi Graff.
The right handed player first gained the attention of the tennis world as an amateur. The girl started playing the game of tennis when she was just six years of age and succeeded in her very first championship at eight years of age.
Sabatini won the Orange Bowl in Florida after turning thirteen back in 1983. She has succeeded in a total of six major international junior championships, along with the French Open girls singles as well. She was also listed as number one junior tennis player back in 1984.

The female tennis player from Argentina cruised to her very first Grand Slam singles final back in 1988 at the United States Open championship. She met Steffi Graf, a German tennis star who had triumphed in the last three Grand Slam singles tournaments that year and was hoping to gain her fourth victory. As expected, Steffi succeeded in that final 6–3, 3–6, 6–1.
Gabriela was elected to represent his country back in 1988 at the Summer Olympics in Seoul. The girl finished off the competition with a silver medal to her name. In the final match, unfortunately, Sabatini once again met Graf and once again Graf won the match 6–3, 6–3. Sabatini later on paired up with Steffi to succeed in the women's doubles title at the grass court Grand Slam event that season. She also triumphed in 1988's season concluding WTA Tour tournament.
Her next major singles final came in the year 1990, where Gabriela once again met Graf in the final match of the United States Open championship. However, on this occasion, Sabatini managed to knock down Graf 6–2, 7–6. She also later on defeated Graf in the semi final match of the WTA Tour tournament however fell down in the final by Monica Seles in the championship’s first ever five set clash 6–4, 5–7, 3–6, 6–4, 6–2.
She had an unusual beginning to 1991, triumphing in a total of five championships in the first half of the season. Gabriela also made her way into the third Grand Slam singles final at the All England Club and once again met Graf who lasted 6–4, 3–6, 8–6, in spite of the fact that Sabatini served for the game more than once. In 1989, she released her own scent, called as "Gabriela Sabatini". After her retirement in 1996, the girl has launched a couple of other scent lines as well. Her book by the name of “My Story”, highlighting her personal life, history as well as sources of inspirations, became pretty famous in 1994.
Sabatini has succeeded in a total of twenty seven singles championships and fourteen doubles tournaments. She jumped to her career high ranking of world number three back in 1989. The girl played her last professional game versus Jennifer Capriati back in October, 1996 and lost the match 6-3, 6-4. Sabatini was also included in the International Tennis Hall of Fame back in July, 2006.
