The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.. ?

Question

if anyone has ever read this i need some advice. i lost my lab 2 years ago (seems like a long time), and the last time i saw him he had hip problems so bad he couldn't get up. I got this book recently from someone at work and began reading it. I finished the first chapter but barely because i was in tears, I thought i was over the death of my old dog but i don't know if i can keep reading the book if it is just a tale of a dogs death. My question is, is the book worth reading though, or is chapter one just the beginning of the heart wrenching book?

This is a wonderful book, so full of humor & warmth, good things & yes some bad things. I think you will like the ending if you keep going on it.

So sorry for the loss of your dog, I don't think we ever really get over losing a beloved companion.
