The Asian Development Tour will conclude with the inaugural Yeangder ADT Championship this season
The Asian Development Tour has added another tournament to its schedule, Yeangder ADT Championship in Chinese Taipei, which will mark the end of the season this year.
The ADT event will be played at the National Garden Country Club in Taipei, from November 20 to 23, 2012.
During the inaugural season in 2010, the ADT featured a total of five tournaments on its roster.
Since then, eight more events have been added to the tier-two tour on the Asian circuit. The ADT now has a total of 13 tournaments on its schedule.
The inaugural Yeangder ADT Championship will offer US$120,000 prize fund for the participants, which will be the largest prize purse on the tour so far.
All the tour players now have their eyes on the event, as it will be the deciding event for the top-three players in the Order of Merit.
According to the Asian Tour qualifying policy, the top-three players from the ADT will get invitations to play on the 2013 Asian Tour.
Therefore, it is important for all the elite players on the tour to participate in the event and try to make it to the top-three positions in the rankings.
According to the Yeangder Group Chairman Emmet Hsu, the main reason behind the company’s decision to sponsor the event is to promote the game of golf in the Asian reason and, especially, in Chinese Taipei.
While making the announcement of the sponsorship deal, he stated that the ADT aims to provide a chance to the young players, to polish their games, prior to entering the prestigious Asian Tour.
Therefore, it will be an honour for the company officials to play their part in the learning process of the young players.
“We believe in investing in our young players as they represent the future of the game,” said Hsu.
This is not the first time that the Yeangder Group has shown its commitment for the development of the sport in the region.
The company already supports different Chinese Taipei players on the ADT Tour and the Asian Tour. In addition to that, it also sponsors the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship, an elite tournament on the Asian Tour.
“We fully support the Asian Development Tour and its mission to develop professional golf across Asia,” Hsu said.
“I believe this is a fantastic platform for rising stars of the game to cut their professional teeth and play their way onto the elite Asian Tour”.
He added, “Yeangder Group is fully committed towards the growth of the game in Chinese Taipei and also across Asia. We believe our sponsorship of the inaugural season-ending tournament will provide a fitting finale to the season”.
The Asian Tour Executive Chairman Kyi Hla Han also hailed the dedication shown by the Yeangder Group for the success of different events in Asia.
