There is a Higher One atm machine located in my college. I requested 40.00 and it gave me $200.00. Many students found out that money was located in the wrong slots and started taking lots of money out. They would request 10.00 put it would give them fifty. They would request 30.00 and get out 150.00/ And once again I requested 40.00 and got 200.00. out by accident. The guy who fixed he machine said they are going to trace the amts students were getting out and are going to take it back from our accounts. Although I got 200 out, my receipt says i have forty. So can they really go into my bank of america account and get their money back?

  1. atm's got cameras and internal clocks. they also have your info. so there is a good chance that they will contact you. just don't say nothing and float under the radar for as long as you can. hopefully you came up.

one time i applied for direct deposit and my money got deposited into another persons account. i went to the bank and fixed it. the next week it was corrected, but i went in and wanted to test it so i said last week my money was deposited into this account. i had the wrong number that was given to me by an employee. if any money was deposited into this account this morning it is mine. so i got paid twice and nothing has happened. this was like 3 years ago

  2. Yes they can trace it you should have called the bank. This kind of thing ends up costing everybody more money in the long run.

  3. Yes they can, because the operation is logged separately in two different registers: one, your bank account; the other, the physical ATMs operations.  If there's a mismatch, they'll probably come back to you and charge your account.

Very shortly after Sept. 11th, an ATM in New York's financial district went crazy giving hundreds to every customer that came in.  In a few weeks, all the wiseguys that has taken the money were charged for the amounts they took.

  4. Oh yes they can. And ATMS do have cameras
