The Awakening - Kate Chopin?

Does Edna initially hesitate before pursuing Robert?

I'm trying to compare the book to Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" and the three metamorphoses. I'm having a hard time coming up with the spirit's transformation into a camel, and that's all I can think of - she hesitates, knowing the possible consequences and trials she will undergo in order to fulfill her desire.

What do you think? Does she hesitate? If so, what chapter do you see that in? Any other ideas for the camel?

Thanks!!
