The Baby Bjorn carrier is so expensive. Is it worth it or is there a good knockoff anyone can recommend?

Target sells a lot of them. Has anyone used a different (cheaper) brand that they recommend?

  1. They have knock off's at Target.

  2. I got the smaller one of this brand

    http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp...

this one is for babies upto 33lbs for 29.99$

I got the one , same brand, for babies to 22lbs for 19.99$

I LOVE IT. it's easily adjustable it can go higher, it doesnt have to hang that low.   I usually cant do these kinds of things and have to get my hubby to do it but I found thisone in the storre and it was only 20$ so I tried it in the store while I was shopping and I loved it so much that I brought it and walked right out of the store with the baby in it. I use it all the time. straps are comfy and it adjust easy for me and my hubby to use.

Before spending so much money on the Bjorn I would try this and keep the box and return it if you dont like it.

If you must have the Bjorn check out secondary markets for a lightly used one.

  3. I belong to a babywearing group of mothers who are advocates for attachment parenting. The decision to wear your baby is wonderful and you will experience a greater bond than leaving your little ones in swings and bouncers to get things done around the house. But I have heard from a chiropractor that the Baby Bjorn's are awful because they rotate the baby's hips unnaturally. If you want an upright front carrier, try a Mai Tai...people have been carrying their babies like this for centuries. Good luck!

  4. It's amazing and worth the $$ if you're going to have more than one child.

    I use mine every day!

I think Evenflo makes a good carrier as well and it's cheaper.

  5. Try LittleRubi.com! They are cheap and SOOO cute!!!

They are satin (which I love) and you can choose many different styles and designs. And they're all hand-made so you'll get better quality opposed to a mass-produced sling.

    Good luck! <3

  6. We were given the baby bjorn and hated it! I tried many times to use it while my husband was at work so  I could have free hands for cleaning...yeah right! It took at least 15 minutes to get my son in the darn thing every time...then I could never adjust it while it was on so I ended up with a back ache or had to take the thing off..adjust it...15 mins putting it back on..to take if off and readjust it...etc....it was a terrrible investment (for the lady who bought it) I loved having my son close, but next time I'll try a different carrier bc this one was not worth the effort!!!

  7. Every baby is different, they might not like being in a snuggly.  I had a Graco snuggly, and it worked just fine.

If you really want a Bjorn, keep your eyes open on online classified sites for your area.

  8. have you thought about a sling or a wrap instead?  They are more verstatile and can be used longer.  You can even make a wrap yourself for less than $10.  all you need is 5 yards of fabric and sewing machine.

  9. We used it on my goddaughter one time and she hated it! She preferred a stroller but every baby is different.

  10. Try the jelly bean carrier by munchkin. Its a sling but it carries babies in 5 different postions as they get bigger. Its like $30. I got it at Burlington Coat Factory
