Jose Mourinho has claimed that the winner of the Ballon d’Or award this year has already been decided. There have been rumours saying that the heads of football have campaigned for the endorsement of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 star.
The Argentine international is the favourite to win the award this time and has already won the trophy three times before.
If he becomes successful this year too, he will then become the first player ever to win the Ballon d’Or four times.
When Mourinho was asked about Ronaldo’s chances of winning the award, he said:
"The Ballon d'Or has already been given.”
"When the heads of football speak and make the campaign, there is nothing you can do."
Looking back on his team’s 4-1 win over Ajax, the Portuguese said that they always respect their opponents. He mentioned what he has achieved with the club in the Champions League since his arrival.
Given the strength of the group Real Madrid were in, the master tactician believes qualifying to the knock out stages is more important than anything else.
"We have to respect everyone. Last year we broke the record of points in the group stage, and in this year's group of death have been second," he said.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan boss also mentioned that his intention was to win the group but it didn’t turn out to be that way.
"We wanted to be first but it has not been possible."
There have been some rumours that claimed Mourinho is on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeu and is headed to Paris Saint Germain.
The 49-year-old responded to the speculation in a joking manner and said that maybe he will switch places with Carlo Ancelotti since the Italian is also linked with a move to Real Madrid.
"Maybe we'll have an exchange between the two clubs. But Paris would be a good destination for ... our next Champions League game?"
Now that they have secured their position in the last-16 of the Champions League, Mourinho will put his attention on how to bridge the gap between Real and Barcelona in the Primera Division.
