The Barclays Singapore Open: Betting Preview (part 2)
Other than Noh Seung-yul, Matteo Manassero, Francesco Molinari, Graeme McDowell and Robert Karlsson competing for one of the most lucrative first place positions in a while, Adam Scott and Joost Luiten aren't far behind in threatening the 204 player field.
Considering Adam Scott first, the HSBC event in Singapore welcomes a golfer who has been able to claim shining numbers in nearly every field he has stepped in lately. The thirty year old golfer has won the 2005 as well as the 2006 events held in Singapore and stood third at the tournament held in the year 2009. The golfer from Queensland finds Singapore as one of his favorite places to play golf and thus chose to play here instead of the JBWere Masters in Melbourne.
The JBWere Masters and The Barclays Singapore Open thus faced a rather unfortunate clash in which the event in Singapore attracted a bigger amount of the rivalry basket due to its US $ 6 million prize money.
The Barclays Singapore Open is currently in it's first round and it will continue till the 14th of this month. Other than the event at The Sentosa Golf Club, The JBWere Masters is being held on the same dates in Australia which is a rather inopportune clash for the golfers.
Adam Scott currently holds a 16/1 in the betting odds which doesn't give much away but the critics still plan on supporting Scott due to his ability to handle literally everything that is put before him. After missing a domestic major like The JBWere Masters, the thirty-year-old's performance will decide whether the decision to appear in Singapore had been worthwhile or not.
The Open also includes Graeme McDowell appearing at the field as a weapon from Northern Ireland. The thirty one year old is considered a major threat due to his win at the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open claimed by Graeme McDowell took place in Spain and handed the golfer a place to stand at number ten in the Golf World Ranking.
Then there is Joost Luiten who hasn't been able to collect many victories in the 2010 season. But from those that he has appeared in, have been a good display of the talent this twenty four year old holds. His previous record is documented as 2-3-5.
Luiten had been injured before so he didn't play much but after attaining the runner up position in Portugal, he was extremely happy with his performance. The 2006 turned professional ended that game in second place, after Richard Green, and said that he was satisfied with his progress and felt he could win the next time round though it would take some time for him to get back in momentum.
So Luiten stands fearless in front of the daunting 204 line-up at the Sentosa Island. The golfer from Netherlands also faces enough pressure to push him across the line.
Due to the injury Luiten faced, the missed sessions state his emaciated form in Asia but his finish in the top five list some years back in Indonesia covers it all.
Joost Luiten is thus a 50/1 with a 1/4 1, 2,3,4,5 general due to his brawny finish in 2010 which means his focus is also climbing his way to the top.
With Luiten holding 1 point, Adam Scott is standing with 3 points at 16/1. This is due to the victory attained by the thirty year old in Singapore and his loyalty towards the event he loves the most.
