  4. The *fall* of the Berlin wall was indeed a world event because it marked the opening of the iron curtain in Germany and was a significant point in the breakup of the USSR, which ended the cold war and left the world with only one superpower: the USA.

  5. Going up or coming down?  When it went up it was part of the "Cold War"...something that marked the world, alliances, and a series of "proxy" conflicts that changed the political world.

    When it came down, it was the end of the Cold War, and the reunification of Germany.  That changed the balance of power (one super power) and changed the landscape of alliances and communities (EU membership was extended eventually to eastern block nations).

    So, yeah, I'd think so.

  6. it represented the joining of the two sides of berlin after the cold war, which was almost a third world war, nuclear at that ,  so I would say so yes
