The Best Defenders In The World: The Top Eleven – Part 3

Alessandro Nesta: This thirty four year old Italian defender is considered the best defender in the world.
He has only played for two clubs in his life; he started his youth career with Lazio and then moved up to the first club team. Then he transferred to AC Milan in 2002 and has been there ever since.
When Maldini retired from the club, he left a very big gap among the ranks but still Alessandro Nesta did not disappoint the team when he tried to fill that gap.
He is considered to be the player that holds the whole Milan defence together. Nesta did have some injuries before and miraculously AC Milan’s defence seem to have the same stats as this player’s injuries.
As every time he leaves the active squad the team suffers a major loss that they cannot replace.
Gerard Piqué: Gerard Pique is considered to be a new Beckenbayer in the making, as he has all the tools to become the greatest centre back that the world has ever seen.
He is a twenty seven year old Spaniard who does his country proud. He was a part of the World Cup Winning squad and has left his mark in the history books.
He is six feet and four inches tall, which gives him a major air advantage, he has power, athleticism, intelligence and pace. Pique is an amazing striker and his goals against Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan were very commendable.
He has long range offensive and defensive skills and has everything it takes to be the greatest defender that the world has ever seen.
