The Best European Team Performances Of All Time

In the 2004 season, the Arsenal squad had one of the greatest seasons that a team could ask for. They managed to play in all thirty eight league matches without losing a single one. This outstanding performance earned the squad the name 'The Invincibles’.
This was the first time that a team had managed to do so since, Preston North End in the 1800’s era.  They failed to win any other trophies that season however but managed to reach the quarter finals in the Champions League and the domestic League Cup as well.
In 2010 Inter Milan set a new club record by claiming the, Champions League, Italian League Cup and the Italian. It took them forty five years to do so and 2010 was the year when it happened. Inter Milan managed to become the first ever Italian team to win the treble. Also by doing so they managed to win their fifth consecutive Serie A title.
In 1988, PSV set a Dutch record, as they became the second ever team from the Dutch first division to win the treble. It was a treble that consisted of the, Dutch Eredivisie title, the KNVB Cup and the European Cup. They became the only Dutch team to win the treble since Ajax won it in 1972.
The first ever Dutch team to win a treble in the history of Dutch football was the Ajax of 1972. They won the Dutvch Eredivise, KNVB cup and the European Cup. They beat Inter Milan in the European cup finals that season in what is considered to be one of the greatest displays of total football ever recorded in footballing history.
In 1967 Celtic won the, Scottish Football League cup, the Scottish cup, the Scottish league cup and the European Cup. The team was called the ‘Lisbon Lions’, s they became the first ever team to win the quadruple in a single season. The most dramatic win for the Celtic squad came in the European cup final against Inter Milan, when Stevie Chalmers scored the goal for Celtic with just five minutes left on the clock.
In 1999 Manchester United became the first ever English team to ever win a treble. However it was more than just a treble, they managed four trophies that season, the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and Intercontinental Cup.
In 2009 Barcelona stunned the world of football by winning not one, two or three trophies, but six. They won every single title that a team could think of winning in a single season. They won the, La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. The team looked unstoppable that season, with the likes of Henry, Messi and Xavi. Every team was terrified at the thought of facing a team that scored for fun, when it wanted and however it wanted. There was just no stopping the Barcelona of 2009.
