The Best Football Team At This Moment In Time
Many people have given a thorough look into this matter and no one can really decide what players should be part of “the best team in the world.” With FIFA giving their best players, some of the club level players were left out during the FIFA World Cup 2010. Heres' a look at the best 11 players who's powers, if combined, would make an “undefeatable” team. Lets consider that this team would be taking on a 4-3-3 formation.
Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid): The goalkeeper would definitely be the person who won the golden glove in the FIFA World Cup 2010. Even though he was heavily criticized after the match against the Swiss, he was still able to go through the “thick and thin,” as he helped his team win the final against the Dutch. He was the captain of the team and won the title for his country for the first time. He is a very agile goalkeeper and that makes him the best goalkeeper in the world.
Left-Back: Ashley Cole (Chelsea): Sadly he could not help his team, England advance to the quarter final stage of the FIFA World Cup 2010. But Ashley Cole is definitely the best left-back at the moment. His performance for Chelsea and for England, both have been amazing. His ability to move forward from the left, cross the ball, and then come back to fetch the ball, is amazing. He can manage good tackles on the wingers and does not let his opponents get past him with any ease. He is being targeted by the Spanish club, Real Madrid, only because of the fact that he is the best man for the job.
Right-Back: Maicon (Inter Milan): The Brazilian right-back is so lethal, he should be illegal. He is definitely the best right back in the world, at this moment in time. He helped Inter Milan win the Champions League and even tried his best for his country, Brazil, during the FIFA World Cup 2010. He scored the first goal for Brazil and showed the world that he is not only there to defend but can also come forward and score goals. A fabulous strike from the right-hand side was enough to show his fans that he is the best man for the job.
Centre-Back: Gerrard Pique (Barcelona): The Spanish centre-back showed the world what he was made of during the FIFA World Cup 2010. He bled in almost all the matches he played in during the group stages but did not let his opponents breach through his defensive wall. His team won the FIFA World Cup 2010 and he was even a part of the Barcelona squad which won 6 trophies in one year.
Centre-Back: Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United): He is definitely not the only Manchester United player who has made it to the top 11. The Serbian has impressed the fans time and time again as he alone, on his own, is a defensive wall. His ability to defend the ball in the air and on the ground is simply amazing and no one even comes close to him. With him as a part of the defence, the team can seriously relax as they don’t need another defender to stop their opponents from scoring goals. Vidic is definitely the right man for this job.
Defensive-Midfield: Javier Mascherano (Liverpool): The Argentinean captain is by far the best defensive midfielder of this era. His ability to tackle the ball and give long passes is simply amazing. He plays for the English club Liverpool but the current Champion League winners, Inter Milan, are looking for the Argentinean man because he is the best defensive midfielder in the market, for sure.
Centre-Midfield: Xavi Hernandez (Barcelona): Another Barcelona man who helped his country win the FIFA World Cup 2010. The Spaniard, Xavi Hernandez is the man with the eyes of an eagle. The way he looks at the field and eyes out a man running for a through ball, is simply fabulous. He made a new record for completing the most passes in a FIFA World Cup. He is definitely the man for the job.
Centre-Midfield: Kaka (Real Madrid): The Brazilian did not manage to impress many fans during the FIFA World Cup 2010, but no one can forget his run in the Italian club, AC Milan. He singlehandedly won matches for the Italian club. He was then transferred to the Spanish club Real Madrid where he could not perform well because of his fitness crisis. He could not perform well during the FIFA World Cup 2010 because of the same reasons, as he admitted that he was going through a fitness crisis. He still managed to play as a first-team player for Dunga’s side as they went onto the quarter-finals to meet the Dutch. His team lost the match because of two mistakes made by the Brazilian, Felipe Melo. Kaka, however, had two assists during the FIFA World Cup as he helped Fabiano score 2 goals.
Right-Wing: Lionel Messi (Barcelona): He is definitely the best football player in the world at the moment and no one can deny this fact because he has proven it time and time again. His ability to dribble the ball with his left foot and cut in to score goals is simply amazing. He is definitely the best right-winger in the world as he was the top goal scorer during his last season with Barcelona. It was unfortunate thought, that he did not find the net during the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Left-Wing: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid): The former Manchester United man and the current Real Madrid winger, Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best football players, at the moment. The Portuguese player was able to score his first goal for his team during the FIFA World Cup 2010. He has scored 34 goals in only 36 games and has never failed to deliver. He is also ambidextrous as he can shoot with both his feet and score goals like crazy. Moreover, he is also a great free-kicker, as he has scored most of his goals over free kicks.
Centre-Forward: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United): The second Manchester United player who is included in the top 11, even though he failed to deliver during the FIFA World Cup 2010 is Wayne. So much was expected from him after his amazing performance in the English Premier League but he did not manage to score any goal during the FIFA World Cup 2010. His ability to score goals if he is played as “soul-striker”, is simply outstanding though. He wasn’t played as the only striker on the English side, therefore he did not manage to score too many goals. With Wayne Rooney in your squad, you can expect wonders. His ability to score goals from his head and feet, both, is simply amazing.
