The Best Football Team of this Era (Part 2)
We have already discussed about the defensive side of the “undefeatable” team but now we move on towards the central and attacking roles. Following are the players that are definitely the best option:
Centre-Midfield: Xavi Hernandez (Barcelona): Another Barcelona man who helped his country win the FIFA World Cup 2010. The Spaniard, Xavi Hernandez is the man with the eyes of an eagle. The way he looks at the field and eyes out a man running
for a through ball, is simply fabulous. He made a new record for completing the most passes in a FIFA World Cup. He is definitely the man for the job.
Centre-Midfield: Wesley Sneijder (Inter Milan): The Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder is definitely someone who you can rely on in the central attacking role. While playing for Inter Milan, he has proven himself to be a lethal weapon, who
can easily move up front and simply blow the oppositions’ defences away. He helped the Italian side win the UEFA Champions League under the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho. He later took charge in the Dutch national team during the FIFA World Cup 2010 and he
was the one who scored five goals even though he was serving the team as a midfielder. He helped the team reach the final of the FIFA World Cup 2010 and even though the oranges could not win, he was the one who gave a phenomenal performance throughout the
tournament but was left stranded in the final match against Spain, who are currently the World Champions.
Right-Wing: Lionel Messi (Barcelona): He is definitely the best football player in the world at the moment and no one can deny this fact because he has proven it time and time again. His ability to dribble the ball with his left foot and
cut in to score goals is simply amazing. He is definitely the best right-winger in the world as he was the top goal scorer during his last season with Barcelona. It was unfortunate thought, that he did not find the net during the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Left-Wing: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid): The former Manchester United man and the current Real Madrid winger, Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best football players, at the moment. The Portuguese player was able to score his
first goal for his team during the FIFA World Cup 2010. He has scored 34 goals in only 36 games and has never failed to deliver. He is also ambidextrous as he can shoot with both his feet and score goals like crazy. Moreover, he is also a great free-kicker,
as he has scored most of his goals over free kicks.
Centre-Forward: Samuel Eto’o (Inter Milan): He is the third Inter Milan player and definitely not without a reason. The former Barcelona star left the Spanish side in a swap deal that involved the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Barcelona’s
coach, Josep Pep Guardiola is definitely going to miss him as he is such a phenomenal striker and there are very less who are actually better than him. He is in such an extraordinary form at the moment and he has already scored 13 goals in only 12 appearances.
With Rafael Benitez being his new boss at Inter Milan, he is back in the “striking” role as Diego Milito is rested often and he is back to his goal scoring form. Last year it was the Argentinean striker Diego Milito who stole the show, but this year it is
definitely the Cameroonian who is taking good control of his position up front.
