The Best Transfers Last Season
The new season is about to start and with it hundreds of new transfers will be taking place. There were some transfers last season that stood out above the rest and were highly beneficial for the player and the team that they played for. Here are some of those transfers.
Adam Johnson signed for Manchester City from the Coca-Cola Championship team, Middlesbrough. He had no problem in upping his games to the standards of the Premier League. He entertained City fans with his pace, trickery and overall wonderful understanding of the game. The fact that he didn’t make the England squad was a surprise to most people.
Carlos Tevez crossed the great barrier that divides, Manchester United and Manchester City. He left United to Join City. He managed to score twenty three goals and even provided seven assists in the thirty five appearances he had with the team. He displayed his World Class abilities throughout the season and helped city finish fifth in the league.
Samuel Eto, left Barcelona to join Inter Milan. He didn’t have the best of seasons since he played much further behind the goal then he is used to, but he still managed to win the treble with Inter. He is now the only player in the history of football to win two back to back trebles with two different teams. He constantly worked his socks off and was there to cheer the team on whenever they needed to be cheered on. Overall he was a great team player.
The Real Madrid reject, Wesley Sneijder proved to be the most important piece in the treble winning Inter Milan. The Dutch midfield maestro had by far his best season ever. He constantly linked the Inter midfield with the attack in both the league and the Champions League. He followed his terrific club form into the World Cup and was by far one of the best players at the 2010 World Cup.
Most people thought Cristiano Ronaldo’s career was over when he decided to join Real Madrid from Manchester United. Twenty six goals and seven assists later its Ronaldo whose having the last laugh. The Portuguese captain had a fantastic season with the Spanish giants, Real Madrid. He scored a number of breathtaking goals and dazzled the crowds with his lightning quick pace and foot work. At times he even managed to single handedly win games for the club. Madrid clearly got their money’s worth from the player all season long.
Arjen Robben was considered to be a player who would never be fit to play a match. But the Dutch international regained his fitness last season and shunned all the non believers. He scored goal after goal and managed to carry Bayern Munich all the way to the Champions league final. He was by far the best player at Munich last season.
Diego Milito was an unknown player when he signed for Inter Milan from Genoa. The Argentine international scored twenty two goals in the Serie A last season and even scored twice in the Champions league final to secure the trophy for Inter Milan. After his wonderful season he has now managed to become a common name in the world of football.
