  1. Well Depending on where you are and what track your playing  Id do the .10 cent superfecta . Not every track lets you play the .10 center and there has to be 8 horses entered in the race to beable to play it if its offered. From there just pick the horses you think are going to come 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. But you can add more horses for any placing (eg 1,2,3,4 to win 1,2,3,4,6 to place, 1234568 to show, 123456789 to come 4th) Now since thats a  .10 bet that ticket wont cost to much maybe $10 but lets say it wins and theres long shots 3rd and 4th and the $1 super pays $10,000  then the .10 cent will pay $1000.  Thats the best type of bet to play if you can.

Other then that you cant win with a $1 exa.  If you like 2 horses   do a $10 exa Box  it will cost $20 to do  but if you like the 3 horse and the 4 horse and your ticket reads  3,4 in that order the BOX just means it can come 4 3 and you still win. also if the $1 paid out $10  and you have it 10 times then you get $100 back.

Single Longshots but never put alot of money to win on a favorite cause they dont always win , wouldnt you rather lose on a 20-1 then a 1-1 even money? The chance to win more money is in the 20-1

  2. the best bet is a one horse race

  3. The very best odds and chances are betting singles.

  4. 8/9 runner h'caps when there is a very short price fav,go eachway on a decent price horse.

also 3 horses in a 3 ew doubles and a ew treble .

  5. Putting your money on the horse that runs the fastest is usually the best approach.

  6. If your not a pile on merchant and want to bet small stakes do the place pot Wait till the pool gets big and you can get a massive return for small stakes

  7. It's generally hard enough to find one winner, never mind two. I think the best approach is to bet more or less to level stakes, single win or sometimes each way but never at 1/5th the odds a place. If you bet doubles, you are effectively overstaking on the second horse, which goes against the level stake principle. Each way double is a good bet but I should prefer the singles to be win only. It makes more sense most of the time to try to find another winner with the extra stake you are using for an each way.

  8. If you only pick two horses you can't really do much more than what you are doing! The most popular bet would be a lucky 15. You pick four horses and it is 15 bets. 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 accumulator. So even if only one horse wins you are getting some money back ( some bookmakers will pay double or treble the odds for only one winner & some will pay 25% if all four win!). Well worth a punt if you are good at picking horses!
