The Best Wingers In The World – Part 5
Arjen Robben is known for his dribbling skills and he is also part of the Dutch national team. He has made appearances in Euro 2004, Euro 2008 and the 2006 as well as 2010 World Cups.
This player started his professional football career with Groningen in 2000 and stayed with them for two years before being transferred to PSV in 2002 for another two years.
He made his English Premier League debut with the blues in 2004 and stayed with them for three years, giving them sixty seven performances with fifteen goals.
Later, the Dutch player made a move to Real Madrid in 2007 for another two years giving them fifty appearances. He moved to Bayern Munich in 2009 and is still there.
Robben has so far given twenty four appearances at Bayern Munich and netted sixteen goals for them. He has also made fifty two country appearances and scored fifteen goals. He is truly a world class footballer and ranked as one of the best wingers in the
world but this is a player who has always been haunted with his injuries.
Astonishingly, he stayed injury free last season with the Germans and took the team to the German double title as well as to the finals of Champions league.
Arjen has given some amazing performances and scored crucial goals at Bayern Munich. He has beaten all the odds by proving that it was not Real Madrid that would be better off without Robben but it is actually Arjen Robben that is better off without them.
Robben played the final match of Champions League at Bernabeu and this gave Perez a front row to dwell over the mistake that he made by letting Robben go.
The might of this player is explained by the thought that why would he spent ninety four million dollars on Cristiano Ronaldo when he had a player like Arjen Robben already playing among the midst.
Lionel Messi:
Lionel Messi’s inclusion in the list is actually a no-brainer as he is believed by most as the most talented winger in the world.
Messi is only twenty three years old and a super star. He is one of the most well known players and is a member of the Argentinean National team along with Barcelona FC.
He is considered to be one of the best footballers of his generation and is recurrently called as the world’s best player.
Lionel has had the honour of receiving numerous FIFA World Player of the World Awards and Ballon d’Ors and he had done this at the tender age of twenty two.
Messi’s playing style and abilities on the field have given him the honour of being compared to El Diego and to grace that comparison, Diego Maradona himself declared him as his successor.
This also created an interesting sight during the FIFA 2010 World Cup when we saw both Maradona and Messi on the football field together, one as a manager and the other as a player.
Lionel Messi started playing football at an early age and started his youth career with the Newell’s Old Boys and was part of them from 1995 to 2000.
Then, he made a move to Barcelona’s youth academy and was there for another four years until he finally made the Barcelona B team in 2004 and played there for a year.
