  1. My favorite is Ali, however any man who can make you invent the term "pound 4 pound" has to be best, Sugar Ray Robinson.

  2. Rocky Marciano would definitely be up there. He is a great fighter and not just for his record but in my opinion for his determination, heart and his incredible power which all these things made him even more unbelievable because of the mans small size compared to all of his opponents.

With that said in my opinion if Rocky was the best heavyweight fighter then Muhammad Ali would have to be the best in terms of boxing skill out of all the heavyweights. His speed, defense and ability to adapt to out smarting an opponent can not be rivaled by another heavyweight.

Pound for pound the best boxer of all time is probably Sugar Ray Robinson because he was a man who had it all in terms of all round ability.

So if you see what i mean it is very hard to say that just one person is the best. But if your going to put me on the spot i would have to judge the best boxer of all time on all round ability because if you have that then you are considered to be the nearest thing to perfect in every aspect and Sugar Ray Robinson was the closest to that.

  3. sugar ray robinson no doubt. He was the perfect boxer

  4. ali , hagler,and salvador sanchez

  5. The best boxer of all time was Sugar Ray Robinson.  The best heavyweight of all time was Muhammad Ali.  Rock is up there with the best heavyweights of all time, possibly as high as the top five, but no where near the best boxer.

  6. the best is Sugar Ray Robinson. marciano fought 4 great boxers but saddly they were all no longer in their prime. if they were in their prime then i would concider marciano the best ever... but he didnt  this is his best opponents record when he fought them

Joe Louis (69-2)- joe came back to fight so he can pay off the I.R.S. it was his last fihgt

Jersey Joe Walcott (51-17-2)- it was walcotts last fight. knocked marciano down once

Ezzard Charles(80-11-1)- was no longer in his prime retired  after 8 more fights

Archie Moore(148-19-9)- was way out of his prime and retired after 11 more fights.knocked marciano down once

i think 2 out these 4 opponents would have beaten rocky if they were in their prime

  7. Rocky Marciano the only un-defeated boxer of all time.  ali was a joke. from Angelo Dundee cutting his (ali, then known as clay) gloves so that ali could recover from some englishmens punishment,to sonny liston taking ali's 'phantom punch' (sonny taking a dive). ali and all these other fighter/boxers mentioned, couldn't carry marciano's jock strap!and don't believe the haters that say he fought a bunch a bums, thats what they are saying about Klitschko now. these punks that say that can't carry anyones jockstrap.

  8. Not quite, baby.  Rocky Marciano was undefeated because he fought bums and aging former champions.  There was absoultely no competition in his era except those provided by two aging warriors Jersey Joe Walcott and Archie Moore, who both floored Marciano before eventually losing the fight.  Rocky never fought a prime Joe Louis (he KO'd an aging, out of shape and washed up Louis), or someone with the caliber of an Ali, Sonny Liston, George Foreman or Joe Frazier.  Also, Marciano was a very small heavyweight, about 5'10, with a short reach and tissue paper skin.  He was easy to hit and easily got cut.  He had crude skills and simply used his strength and  brutal punches to overpower his opponents.

Ali fought in what is regarded as the best and most competitive heavyweight era in history and he beat all his competitors and never ducked anyone as well.  He was fast and quick, and moves around the ring like a welterweight.  He had unorthodox style and didn't hit that hard, but he was such a master-boxer, like Ray Robinson, that he'd always had his way in the ring, no matter who his opponent was.  Therefore, Ali was the best.

  9. floyd mayweather jr aka money mayweather aka pretty boy floyd

  10. Greatest - Ali

    Best - Jimmy Wilde

  11. Jack Dempsey.

  12. Rocky was good but nowhere near the greatest he did not have a very strong level of competition in his era...., Sugar Ray Robisnon is the greatest pound for pound boxing champion of all time, he has more victories than the careers of many boxers combined, his skills and strenght were only surpassed by his heart and his chin was made of steel, if God ever decided to make the ultimate boxer it would have probably have been Sugar RayRobinson, and he fought a very high level of competition in his era, even muhammed Ali said that he considers sugar ray robinson the greatest of all time (pound for pound), the greatest heavy weight was Ali, he fought during the golden era of boxing against the best boxers that ever lived and beat them all, that alone gives him the right to be considered the best.......Rocky marciano would have never survived 12 rounds in the ring with George Foreman or joe Frazier this is just a simple fact and although his undefeated record is remarkable that is not enough reason to consider him the greatest....after all mayweather is also undefeated right now but that does not mean that he is the greatest welter weight of all time.

  13. Muhammad Ali is the best all time still.  For the past recent years, I think Mike Tyson was the best and most feared of them all until he started to go skirt searching.

  14. Iron Mike Tyson

  15. The "Greatest" of course!  Muhammad Ali was my favourite.

The experts say Sugar Ray Robinson, who is a very good choice.
