The Big Miss leaves out 'salacious details' about Tiger Woods

Hank Haney, a renowned figure in the sport of golf, said he plans to formally unveil his book on the living golf legend, Tiger Woods, a week before the Masters Tournament in April this year.
He said that the book titled "The Big Miss" does not contain any information that will bring the personality of the player into an unnecessary controversy. Nor will it defame either him or any member of his family.
Haney, along with co-writer, Jaime Diaz, while talking to media last week, said that he had finished writing his book on the former world number one and will release it for the public soon.
The book mainly revolves around the six years that he spent with Woods as his swing coach.
During these years, he was considered to be the closest person to Woods, as he was always seen with him, whether at home or on the course.
Moreover, he saw the former world number one reach the peak of his career and then fall from grace due to a car accident in 2009 and some personal issues.
Woods was eventually divorced and ended up spending most of his time off the course.
However, Haney's book does not include all the chapters of Woods' life and mainly talks about the game of golf.
"I didn't feel frustrated at all with the subject matter not going places it could have gone. It concerns itself with golf areas. Look, Hank was a very influential guy with Tiger in person. It's a golf book primarily and you can't separate golfer from golf
personality," said Diaz.
Diaz went on to say that Haney did not write the book for monetary benefits, neither did he want any complements from Woods.
"Hank is a very sensitive guy who was always very tuned to the way he was portrayed as Tiger's coach. I think he wanted to have his own voice as what he knows to be the truth,” Diaz commented.
He further added, "And I'll say this, from my part, he couldn't have been more cooperative and he couldn't have tried harder".
The idea of not including the scandals and controversies in the book is being appreciated by many, as it will keep the focus of readers only on golf rather than the personal issues of the former world number one.
