The Blackhawks have signed Huet, Walker, Campbell and Scotty Bowman as an advisor-can they go to the finals?

Really a great story in Chicago-Hull,Mikita and Esposito were honored last season. This season they'll retire the number of Pilote and Magnuson (How about Nesterenko?), televise all games, play Detroit in the winter classic-do they have enough to finish with the Cup?

Not yet. But in the near future yes, provided they keep the team together and add or subtract peices like what Kenny Holland has done with the wings.

As a jaded follower of the Philadelphia sports scene since 1968, I can understand why one would feel the Blackhawks are destined to make a run to the Stanley Cup this year.

But I didn't become jaded by osmosis. Many times I have seen teams look like paper tigers only to fizzle during the season and go out like little kitties.

I think Chicago has made some great moves, and should do well this season. But even if I was a Blackhawks fan, I'd be cautiously optimistic because a successful season involves some luck on the ice and the blessings of the injury gods.

The Hawks are gonna be a lot better than last year and I think they will make the playoffs but I don't' think they have the depth or experience to make it past the first or second round.

if they can get past the sharks,red wings,ducks,stars,and possibly the wild then yea i like there chances. i would love to see chicago come out of the west and they could play the Pens and Kane could put Crosby in his place the loseing team...again.

They can make the playoffs and i have them sneaking it at number eight this year.

as far as for the finals i have to go with no, they have a lot of talent on the team but they cannot skate with the wings, sharks, stars, or ducks.  If somehow they can beat one of these teams and the other three are knocked out mircaulously in a 800,000 - 1 chance they could.  But i doubt it.

i give the Blackhawks a 300-1 chance at the cup this year

I think Detroit will win the Stanley cup again. Before they were great and now by signing Marian HOssa they are going to be unstoppable.

They will go to the finals, just not this year. They need some time to structure their forces with their new additions, and get everybody comfortable with the new system. Also, keep in mind, that Chicago is no stranger to injuries, and a few players temporarily taken out could damage the Hawks' chances of making the playoffs this year.
