Well we all know the Bolts will most likely take him in the draft as the overall pick. Will his presece be a great thing for the Bolts or just another guy to top the list in points?

Im a huge Lightning fan, have been since 93. I just hope he provides more than just points but WINS. I understand you cant pass this guy up, but could this guy open someone else up for trade bait. Maybe become able to pick up the one thing I think OVERALL atleast, the Bolts need to make another run for the cup. A goalie. Not a goalie that has the potentional to be good, or has played well in minors. A goalie that has a resume, has won before, knows how to win(and loose), a goalie with a name for himself already.

Sure we need to fill holes in other things also, but I believe this team is a great goalie away from another powerful run for the city of Tampa.

  1. Dont worry.

Stakmos will be a great player for your team. And with smith in net you guys will do much better.

Smith is a good goalie and he was even good enough to have the stars think of trading away turco.

  2. Steve Stamkos will greatly impact the Lightning organization. He puts the team first and himself second. When Stamkos began to grow hype a few months ago as the NHL Entry Draft approached, he quickly shed the comments away and attempted to remain focused on his current team, the Sarnia Sting.

Management needs to bring in much more than Stamkos to start winning again.

Feaster has stated that unless a GM presents a gigantic deal for Stamkos, one that Feaster could not possibly turn down, he will draft Steve with the intention of keeping him with the franchise.

Couldn't agree more about the need for a solid goalie. Feaster also promised the citizens of Tampa he would pursue a number one goalie in the offseason, though this vow may have altered with the acqusition of Smitty. Jay Feaster's job isn't exactly set in stone for the offseason, either.

Exactly. If management can acquire a solidified 'tender and at least two quality top-six fowards, the Lightning can return right back to the thick of the Cup race.

TOASTY - Remember that promise he made to us back in December that if the team wasn't turned around by a certain date, he would start to take drastic measures? Same deal. I just feel that Feasters hands truly are "tied" with the OK group entering the organization and that the GM position will eventually become just a formality as Koules will make all the roster moves.

I know too little at this point other than a few paper articles and a few sources to really believe the Melrose will coach the Lightning. Until we get confirmation, I'm not buying it.

  3. They will take him, I got my wristband and bumper sticker today.

  4. sorry! i don't know

  5. I live across the river from Sarnia, and Stamkos is an amazing player.  He's going to be a big addition to Tampa Bay, I think he brings the kind of excitement that energizes a team.  I mean, look at what Crosby did for the Pens, Stamkos is in the same kind of league.  If he performs the way he did for the Sting, he will not be trade bait, Tampa Bay will keep him no matter what.

  6. Maybe trade their 1st Rounder to a team that has a 25-30th pick and get their 1st and 2nd round pick.

The Bolts need Tyson Sexsmith. Sexsmith plays for the Vancouver Giants (WHL) and had a 1.79 GAA and .915 SV% and is only 19 years old.
