The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu dojo i go to doesnt Recruit People unless there 16/17?

Is this Fair? I see youtube videos of young chidlren practising it,and The Gracies teach there young as well.

  1. If its totally geared towards competition its better this way.

    Also, I rather have someone honestly say he can't do something and misguide people( specially young people).


  2. What can i say some instructors simply either don't enjoy teaching young ones or they may be hesitant to allow small children to learn BJJ techniques.  Maybe they fear the children may get injured.  

    It's truly up to the studio owner to decide and no one else.  Ultimately he/She is the boss.

    The good news is there are plenty of studios around today that will train children if desired.  Our studio has a very active competitive children's class.

    I understand your frustration but it's up to the instructor/owner to decide who, how and where they teach.
