The Breeders’ Cup highlighted by European participation: Elusive Kate, Shumoos and Questing
Breeders’ Cup will see Europe’s participation from all ends as they will be representing in all the five juvenile races that will be held throughout the event. The most recent entries for the Juvenile Fillies’ Turf now include Elusive Kate and Shumoos both
of whom are Group winners.
Elusive Kate will also be accompanied by her stable mate Questing which would conclude to John Gosden being represented by two fillies.
Gosden said on Tuesday: "William Buick will ride both of them and they are both training well. Questing stays in America after the race and Elusive Kate is heading on to the sale at Fasig-Tipton the Sunday after the Breeders' Cup”.
The two-year-old Elusive Quality filly out of Gout De Terroir has raced the tracks five times this year and out of those she has won a remarkable four. The share of these victories is equally distributed between William Buick and Olivier Peslier. The very
first race that she won was the British Stallion Studs Supporting EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes with William Buick aboard.
Next Elusive Kate won the Prix Six Perfections at Deauville on 31st July followed by Prix Du Cal Vados Group 3 and then it was the Total Prix Marcel Boussac Group 1 on 2nd October at Longchamp.
However the record of stable mate Questing is not as impressive as Elusive Kate’s. Questing is a two-year-old, Hard Spin and Chercheuse’s filly has raced thrice this season and was able to win the Pumpmatic Pump Stations Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on 21st
June at Newbury, the next two races saw him positioned third and second in the next two races.
A third entry into the Juvenile Fillies’ Turf is Shumoos who has been seen racing six times this season as yet and has won twice. On 28th May it was the British Stallion Studs EBF Blue Square Maiden Stakes at Haydock. The next attempt in which
she won was the Betfred Bonus King Sirenia stakes Group 3 on 3rd September at Kempton.
The horses are already being trained on the track which is now being rated as firm by the track superintendent Butch Lehr.
The superintendent said: "It was rated good after a heavy dew. I couldn't really say it was completely firm but we had a lot of wind yesterday and we're going to rate it firm this morning”.
