  1. First, it's a great show of respect between extraordinary athletes. Both Manny Pacquiao and the Celtics have tread similar paths coming into this event: the Celtics have ended a 22-year title drought against the most offensive team in the 07-08 season of the NBA, the LA Lakers by a very large margin of 39 points in Game 6 of the 2008 NBA Finals. Manny Pacquiao became the first Asian to hold four major  championship belts in four different weight classes with a lopsided KO win in the 9th round over defending champion David Diaz.

Second, this shows that great athletes possess similar traits: good work ethic, national pride, never-say-die attitude and most importantly, sportsmanlike conduct.

Lastly, great stars can even be like little kids in front of people they admire. I quote Chito Trinidad's interview with KG in Pacquiao's dressing room after the fight:

Chino Trinidad: Did you know KG, that Manny is your number 1 fan?

KG: I’m his number 1 fan.

  2. Pacquiao knew of the Celtics’ plan to come and see him fight, and even offered them tickets. But later on Mandalay Bay said it would provide the ringside tickets for the reigning world champions.

  3. no one cares. you see only 2 answers.

if it were like 10 answers i would not say nothing but you oviously are a fan of celtics and that chinese foo

  4. Real champions show class towards another real champion... Fellow NIKE endorser Kobe Bryant must have been green with envy... Go, Celtics! Go, Pacman! Go, CHAMPS!
