What is the Calvin Cycle?

and what is carbon fixation.

  1. It has to do with organisms that produce their own food. It also relates to the krebs cycle which our body does to produce energy (I believe, I'm trying to remember this...)

  2. Then Calvin Cycle is part of the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis.  In the Calvin cycle, CO2 is fixed to form glucose using energy derived from the light-dependent reactions.

    Carbon fixation simply means that the plant is taking CO2 from the atmosphere and "fixing" it in solid molecules such as glucose.
