I am a beginner on photography. i'm planning to buy soon a new Canon Rebel XTI but I have doubts ...

the camera comes with an included lens or only the body?

I need to buy the lens separate?

Which lens is the best for me?

I don't know much about lens ...

I want to take photos to things, Portraits, fashion and nature.

(moderated Price for one beginner who scarcely starts learning photography) it's my hobby(L)

thanks :]

  1. you can buy the XTI with a lens, or body only. Either way, it'll say right in the name of the product, it'll be in brackets. If it reads the word ' kit ', it usually indicates that it comes with an 18-55mm lens, which is a nice all purpose lens, which does alot for the amateur. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-10-1... how it looks body only, and it says that clearly in the titlehttp://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-10-1... how it looks like with an 18-55mm kit lens.now, you say that you like fashion and portraits, the 18-55mm lens will be good for that. However, if you're going to do nature photography, perhaps you should get a lens like this:

    Sigma-70-300mm-4-5-6-Telephoto-Cameras...

    that's a Sigma 70-300mm lens.

  2. XTi comes as body only, OR a kit with a 18mm-55mm lens which (given the XTis sensor crop) gives a good usable range with nice close focus.

    A good enough alrounder.

If portratis and fashion loom large in your photography then the good news is that the ideal lens for these purposes is also the cheapest after-market lens: the canon 50mm f1.8 mk2.

Feels a bit fisher price in the hand, but performs very very well, ideal for portraiture,  Very nice perspective with nice sharp focal point and dramatic fall off for the foeground and background.

  3. The kit lens is a great lens to start off with... use that lens while you get to know your camera, then move on to other lenses. Good luck!
