The Catalan Giants speak about the draw against FC Copenhagen
The Spanish Champions were up against a very tough Danish side FC Copenhagen during the midweek group stages and later on the Spanish coach even accepted the fact that it was one of the toughest games that his side played. Later on the
players spoke about it too and they all gave their point of views as well.
The Brazilian full back Daniel Alves was not upset after the draw and by winning only a single point against the Danish champions. In fact, the Brazilian star said that he was actually proud of his that they managed to pull off a draw
on a difficult trip. Daniel Alves stated that the team did not find time to enjoy the goal as the Danish side scored very quickly.
Speaking about the game, Daniel Alves said that the coach warned them how tough the game is going to be and he said that the Danish side were simply “intense.” The Barcelona defender added on to his comments by saying that he is happy
about the fact that the team at least got a point and it would be sad in case they got not points at all.
Carles Puyol also commented about the game and said that the team knew before hand that the game was going to be tough; however, he said that it was simply a shame that the opponents easily managed to find an equalizer. He said that the team still performed
really well and even though they wanted to qualify by winning the game but by winning a single point and still leading the points table, it is still not “sad” for the team. He even taunted Copenhagen as he got a knock on the nose right when the game begin.
He said he is totally okay and the way the Copenhagen manager talks about “fair play,” they should’ve played fairly themselves.
Andres Iniesta also spoke about the draw and said that it was a shame how the team couldn’t win the three points. He also said that the team did not really have time to enjoy the lead and that was the reason why they simply couldn’t get
back into the game. He added on to it by saying that the game was simply intense and he would love to take three points so that the players could rest in the next Champions League game but now they have to work hard to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
He summed it all up by saying that the European tournament is very demanding and the team’s fate is in its own hands and they need to win the next game in order to remain at the top of the table.
David Villa also spoke about the performance. The Spaniard had an amazing weekend as he ended his drought by scoring a brace against Sevilla in the Nou Camp. He spoke about the game and said it was one of the toughest games that he has
ever played. The Spanish striker added on to his comments by saying that the Danish Champions are a great side who are proving to be very tough in the UEFA Champions League. He said that the team is happy with a draw as it is better to win something rather
than nothing. He was happy that even though the game was physical, none of the important players of the Catalan giants got hurt or injured and even though he stated that his side is “exhausted,” he was happy that they are at the top of the table.
