Question:

The Cats are back in town? Or Melbourne are 47 points better than Port?

So what, if anything, can we read into Melbourne's effort against the Cats?

I don't usually put much store in first round pre-season games but does an eight goal opening term put any shudders into other supporters ... or the score of 161 which sounded familiar (almost).

Or are Melbourne just going to be that bad?

(I really thought the Cats might have a hangover - it's been very quiet at Kardinia except for bad news. ) Hope we can take this to AAMI for round one - don't care much for the NAB cup.

  1. Let's be fair, Geelong was at close to full strength while Melbourne could bring in 6 regulars, but it's only the preseason so who really cares.

  2. Ray, you scare me a bit, but in a good way. I tried to listen to the game on the Internet, via afl.com.au, but it was stuffed and so I had to only watch score updates on the Age website.

Of course I want Geelong to win, but like your last question, I am so superstitious about my teams in all sports, I have a difficult time enjoying the games.

I didn't listen to the Collingwood PF last year because I thought my listening would jinx the team with our bad luck against Collingwood in finals.

Of course, no television here of the game. Mark another on the reasons that Andrew the Rocket Scientist is an idiot.

  3. The Cats never left town. We'll see how they go when the real stuff starts.

As for Melbourne being 47 points better than Port, I highly doubt that as the Power will revisit the finals this year, whilst Melbourne will finish in the bottom 4.

  4. MATE,i can tell you are chomping at the bit to see how your caters go this year, but a pre season game against a woeful team is no indicator on how your season will pan out.

i mean we even beat pt Adelaide at AAMI stadium today, and id hardly say the blue boys were going to be world beaters this year.

so take it easy Ray A,there's along way to go mate.

  5. i think anybody is better than Port

i thought the demons played well, but geelong are at least 10goals better than any other club

  6. Cats were just to strong for the Dees
