The Chiefs signs Isaac Ross
Super 15 side The Chiefs have signed New Zealand lock Isaac Ross from The Crusaders.
Ross was recently dropped from the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, for their Tri Nations campaign. He was told to go away and work on his game before putting his effort into another crack at
international level.
"I am really excited about the move up north as this is a good change for me. I've heard Ian Foster
is a great coach and I'm looking forward to working with him," said Ross.

Ross is a superb lock that would be successful in any of the Super 15 sides. His quality and skill should help him to settle in and have an immediate effect on the team.
Quality and skill
Ross is a very fit and powerful player. His stamina is superb and makes him very effective at lock. This allows him to run around the pitch non-stop for 80 minutes. It also ensures
The Chiefs now has a player who can run off the ball and press the opposition.
He seems to have been hit hard by his ejection from the All Blacks team earlier in the summer. No one would have blamed him for sitting on his contract at The Crusaders. This
deal shows he has ambition and a desire to get better.
Ross does all of the basic rugby skills well. He handles well and does not give the ball away easily. He has a very good long passing and kicking game, which is vital in setting
up counter attacks from defence. His vocal skills are very effective in keeping the defensive line straight and well drilled.
"I'm looking forward to working with players such as Liam Messam
who I've come through most of the national age grades with and played with in the New Zealand Maori with this year," added Ross.

Betting advice
Ross will add a healthy dose of quality into The Chiefs' defence. He should make the side difficult to break down, which means fewer points and fewer losses. Back the side to
win on a game to game basis.
