the USA, because at least 3 of the girls on the Chinese Team look like they are 12 or 13 years old (actually, they look 10). The rule states the the athlete must turn 16 in the Olympic year. Hey, rules are rules. The Olympic Committee should investigate this throughly, you agree?

  1. All I can say is that if they are only 12 or 13 years old, my heart breaks for them. Imagine all the hard work that they were forced to do and all the stress they had to deal with.

  2. You can keep asking this type of question forever.  It just shows even more to the world how narrow minded the americans are.

In some events, such as the vault.. it's actually a disadvantage for the Chinese girls because it's a huge equipment for them to get over.  The vault itself is like up to their head.  Compare to the bigger Americans.. which is easier for them to maneuver on it.

No one in the world can say that there is cheating, drugs, judges which are bribed until they are proven guilty.  There is no point to point fingers to who is cheating or not.. I think all countries do it to some degree.  Especially the ones that has better resources and better financial support.  Not necessary they are taking drugs, but more advanced "supplement" for sure.

Why do ppl even bother to watch Olympics if it makes them so angry thinking another country is cheating?  Just turn off the TV.

And what is cheating?  THIS is cheating:

  3. Yes rules are rules but looking 10,11,12,13,14, or 15 has no bearing on being 16. Even in the US there are girls that look younger than they really are. This is for nobody to decide but the IOC.

The only way to settle this dispute is for the IOC to launch a full investigation. Then one way or the other the issue will be put to rest. There are one of two things that can happen, either the Chinese will be vindicated or the Americans will be vindicated.

Either way the problem will be put to rest, and people on both side of the equation can stop whining about it.

EDIT: Oracle how many times are you going to copy and paste the same answer.

  4. Rules are rules.

  5. The Olympic Committee doesn't do enough investigating in any sport. Marion Jones had her medal revoked only because she admitted by herself that she used steroids. I highly doubt that they'll investigate the Chinese athletes simply on America's behalf.

  6. It would be disgraceful to the host country to confirm that they cheated, but in all fairness it should be investigated.  The rule was made to protect the safety of these young girls, something China seems to care nothing about.  Remember though, Nadia was only 14 when she won all-around gold.

  7. Agreed, rules are rules. I look forward to seeing the legitimate American team recieve the GOLD...
