The Christophe Ferland trained Dabirsim scratched from the Group 1 Darley July Cup
Christophe Ferland’s charge, Dabirsim, may have run out of luck this season, as he has failed to deliver in the two starts that he has competed in. The runner has been withheld from competing in the six furlong Group 1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket on 14th
July, 2012.
The trainer believes that the son of Hat Trick needs some time off racing, and he is not in a hurry to race the colt. The trainer stated:
"He's not going for the July Cup."
The horseman further added: "I've not decided where his next race will be, there's no rush.
"I'm going to give him plenty of time and he will come back in the autumn."
The three-year-old colt delivered five impressive races last year, and emerged triumphant from all five of them.
The Simon Springer owned runner started this season with a finish as a runner-up in the Group 3 Prix De Fontainebleau at Longchamp in April, 2012, where he lost to the M. Delzangles trained, Dragon Pulse, by a marginal difference of a short-head.
In the Group 1 Poule D'Essai Des Poulains on 13th May, 2012, Dabirsim finished sixth, but lost the victory by a narrow margin of half-length.
With practice and experience, the runner is bound to excel, and return to his winning form and close in on these small margins.
Christophe Soumillon, who mounted the colt on both his rides this season, announced that he will not be paired with the runner in the future since he lacks chemistry with him.
Bred by Mme L. Monfort, the bay colt has demonstrated his skills a number of times, and has two Group 1 victories to his name.
Foaled by mare Rumored, the runner competed in the Group 1 Darley Prix Morny at Deauville on 21st August, 2011, where he defeated the Y. Barberot trained, Family One, by 3 lengths.
The runner maintained his composure in the Group 1 Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp, this time defeating the Freddie Head trained, Sofast by a small margin of ¾ of a length.
If a runner can deliver such brilliant performances, a few shortcomings are perfectly acceptable, because it shows that the runner has potential and will bounce back sooner or later.
