The Coast Guard?

I want to be on the water patrolling (drug seizures, etc.). What would this job description fall under in the USGC?

Although it takes probably some of just about every job description the Coast Guard has to run one of their big Cutters (IT, Communications, etc.) it sounds to me like you're looking for a career path that would start as a Bosun's Mate.  The job isn't glamorous, but it's the first step on the path to Coxswain and eventually Ship Commander.

USCG, Border Patrol, DEA...

The Coast Guard would be a good choice. If you dont' want to be in the military, take courses in criminal justice to start, then specialize....
