The Coral Standard (Triplicated) presented three winners from their three individual trips
11th September, 2011, was a busy day at Hove racing course for greyhound racing. Among the twelve races, three Coral Standard Trip races took place, which concluded with three winners.
The very first Trip, among six hounds took place at 11:58am, which gave trainer C Gardiner a reason to sing praises in favour of his three-year-old hound, Castlehill Eamon.
The blue brindle dog, being 7/4 ideal of the race, began his victory chase from trap three, wearing black and white jacket.
In the initial stages, his speedy pace helped him in leading the entire race and moving wide early helped the hound to cross the wire in 30.05 seconds.
The 5/2 favourite of the race, Pams Alan, unfortunately finished second by 1 length.
The blue hound, while moving wide as he got out of trap 6, got himself crowded.
After getting through the unfortunate situation, he kept on running to hold on to the wire with an impressive ending, but it was too late as he crossed the wire in 30.13 seconds for trainer B. Clemenson.
The second trip among six other hounds was held at 1:12pm.
The Coral Standard Trip tile winner was Droopys Comedian, a black dog, who was the 4/6 favourite. He gave B Clemenson a chance to celebrate through his amazing performance.
Chasing the lure from trap 4, the three-year-old hound had to grease his elbows for the victory, because he got crowded during the race and eventually when he got out of the situation, he managed to run as fast as he could and gave a splendid hit, by covering
the 515 meters distance in 29.70 seconds.
M Datnall, hooting for his white and black dog, Farloe Skywalker, ended up with the second position, due to his sluggish chase.
The 3/1 favourite could have raced really well, but sadly he got defeated by 5 lengths and covered the required distance in 30.10 seconds.
The last trip of the show at Hove was won by R Holloway’s Airforce Posh, a black dog who was lucky enough to win the Coral Standard in 30 seconds.
Being in the race as a 7/4 ideal, the black dog railed through trap 6 and was fortunate enough to defeat all other five contenders
Harry The Dog, trained by C Gardiner, despite being fast throughout the race, could not compete against Airforce Posh.
The black and white dog helped himself to reach the wire in 30.20 seconds and finished second for his trainer.
The total purse of the race was £275 and the lucky ones who finished first for their trainers earned £150 while other participants won £25 each.
