Question:

The Cost of Living & Crime?

thanks to our caring government,, people who actually earn in enough to manage to pay their bills and taxes are struggling even more,

whilst our politicians seem to be living in the lap of luxury, great salaries great expenses perks ect.

Why hasnt the government forseen what will actually lead to a massive increase in crime?

We have already seen the rise of fuel thefts, which in one case has led to serious injury, and possibly brought on a heart attack that has led to the death of a victim of the crime.

Surely the wave of crime is now going to rocket out of all proportions, the lack of financial security and a decent income is going to start to have a crippling effect on all of us.

And my prediction is that crime in general will be a result of the governments lack of due care and respect for the population.

do you think this prediction is wrong?

  1. No, it sounds about right.  Where I live Gas Stations are installing outdoor cameras to read license plates of every car because of the high rate of Pump and Run cases.  Food Store thefts are going up among other things and because jobs are hard to find, kids old enough to get jobs are looking at drug dealers as possible employers.

  2. I can't pick a fault in your prediction whatsoever.

I must admit I am still in education but I am working part time to get about, but due to the tax I pay, the cost of petrol (I have no public transport option between home, and work or college) and the other assorted things I have to pay for (Tuition fee's ect) I am working over 30 hours a week and am taking home £30 a week, which is incredible when you consider I live with my parents.

But does the government want to help me out? No because my parents earn more that 30K a year so they continue to take tax off me.

Sorry about my off topic rant btw!

  3. it is my opinion that our govererment are pushing for a civil war...

they are very deliberatly causing racial tensions, helpin the spread of violent crime and fuelling the stress levels of the average worker to near breaking point....

it also answers the question of why so many "terror"laws and no real terror threat....they are waiting for it..i believe that it is the ordinary briton that is to be the future threat, and they are just preparing themselves.

  5. Yes, way overblown.

  6. Its already happening there is over 7 or 8 million Americans on some form of probation, prole, house arrest, or incarcerated their are new laws being made everyday and the old ones are being enforced with harsher punishments. The system is overloaded with to many court cases and to many criminals per officer.

  7. First many people believe the economy operates on cycles.  When its good the country should take the effort to fix infrastructure and prepare for when it won't be good - rarely do they do that; and the result is often a need for financial fixes when times are rough; and that merely makes the rough times harder.  Which leads to more crime; and there is little our government can do to impact the fact poor economic times lead to more crime.

  8. Yes you are correct.  The more of a gap between the 'haves' (or as George Bush would say "Have Mores") & the 'have nots', the increase of crime.  The problem is that these greedy selfish people don't look beyond their own noses to forsee the connection, they're too busy lusting after money, power & in some cases fame.
