  1. Not too bad, it's safe enough.

But if you like the mafia, corruption, horribly high prices for services and housing, short pebble beaches, extremely cold, unpleasant and superficial people, then you'll like Nice. If not, you'll like most other places in France much better.

  2. Two mafias rule Nice - the russian one dealing with prostitution ( feminine one )

                                         - the italian one ruling on all other things, mainly drug, smuggling, construction etc

Otherwise the crime is all right - not more not less than anywhere else

  3. There is relatively little violent street crime in France although more today than a few decades ago.

Almost all such crime is attributable to Muslim North Africans with the remainder committed by recent Eastern European immigrants. Much of this crime is confined to suburban enclaves and a few urban neighborhoods with high percentages of Arab residents.

Most commonly the crime that will be encountered in tourist areas is theft, often of the "artful dodger" variety, purse snatchings and pickpocketing. Organized gangs of gypsies are particularly adept at this type of crime.

    Visitors should act accordingly.
