Question:

The Crucible: How is Danforth a contrasting character to Judge Hathorne?

As you can tell, this is a question that is most likely on a worksheet (and it is)

I'm being asked to explain how Deputy Governor Danforth is a foil character to both Samuel Parris and Judge Hathorne.

Now, I know how he's a contrast to Parris, but I haven't the slightest idea of how he is so to Hathorne.

So if someone could give me a theory as to how Danforth is in contrast to Hathorne; I would be very happy.

  1. I have not ever read The Crucible, but there are a number of online study guides, and quite a few other resources on the web that can help you with this play.  Most of them have quite a bit of good information.  Have a look at these sites, and you should get some help with your work.  If you do a search here in the Yahoo Answers search window you will find many other sources of help as quite a few questions have been asked here about The Crucible.
