The Dark Knight DVD?

Question

Somebody I know, he's kinda a mate told me a downloaded Batman torrent thingy in HQ, but that's not my question my question is do the companies give out early realease to reviewers etc, because I'm sure they make the DVD after they have done the film and before they realease it, I thought they wouldn't continue with a film after it's been realease, because they would work on their next film?

Any experts know how it works?

A copy of the movie is sometimes given to out to movie execs or movie critics for screening purposes only.  These are typically the finished movie, but changes may be made to the movie before it hits theaters.
