I always thought that the guy on TDK with the dogs was The Russian from gotham knight. Since the Gotham Knight dvd was "taken place" right between batman begins and TDK, i would think that

The Russian is that guy on TDK who had those dogs that had an accent and Maroni, the italian, was falcones (sp?) heir to his mob w/e was Sal Maroni from TDK. But when i was reading the script for The Dark Knight, I found out that on the script, it said that that guy onw/ the dogs name was "Chechen"

Can someone explain?

  1. Chechen is not his name.  It's a reference to his ethnicity and he is actually credited as "The Chechen".  A Chechen is a person from Chechnya which is a part of the Russian Federation.  So I'm pretty sure that the Russian and the Chechen are the same person in the two movies.

I did find that the story from GK that featured the Russian was produced by a Japanese Company, so the best explanation that I can think of for why the character has two different names is that there was just a communication error between the people that made GK and the people that made TDK.
