Was anyone else disappointed with the '19 Years later' bit, for me that wrecked it.. I know that JK did it so that no one could write a sequel, but really i thought it was fantastic up to that point..

  1. In my honest opinion, Deathly Hallows was my least favorite one. It was basically a guide to camping with cheesy ending plot points slapped in.

  2. i agree i could have made up a better 19 years later in my mind

  3. i liked it. kinda. well techniclly its not part of the story. its an epilougue. and without it some ******** would probably make an eight one and ruin it even more.

  4. I agree katiee.

The point of novels is that you get to use your imagination- to picture how characters look, how the feel, etc. JKR should have left out the 19years bit all together, as I feel she robbed us of a right to imagine for ourselves what happened.

Also, I feel the actual writing of it wasn't up to scratch. It was incredibly cheesy.

Lastly, I first thought that the 19 years later bit was to provide us with info, but it doesn't. We dont learn anything apart from the fact that everyone married. So JKR robbed us of our right to imagine, and yet at the same time, teased us by not really telling us anything. :P

Then of course there are those awful names...

  5. Yeah, that was a bit disappointing. I could imagine that pretty much all of that would have happened, but to actually read it in the book... it was just a bit too twee, I felt.

  6. yea i was a little upset with the epilogue

she should have ended it b4 that.

or elaborated more on the 19 years later bit.

  7. i like dthe end. i hate when books just end and you dont really know what happens later. i liked that she finished it so there was nothing left to think about.

  8. I diddnt like the 19 yesrs later. it kind of took away from th whole book

  9. I didn't mind it

  10. It was alright and I undrestand why she did it. Was a bit dissappointing? Yes.

  11. Well.... I think it was nice to 'hear' how Harry was doing nineteen years down the road. I don't see why a lot of people complain about it - I think it was fine. Was there a better way to end the HP series? Maybe. But JK nows best - she's the writer. We're just the fans. Y'know?

  12. yes the same here. the 19 years later totally ruined it. the book was great though. wish that there was more. =(
