The Decade’s Top Football Strikers – Part 4
Fernando Torres has so far been a prolific and creative player for the Reds. He plays along Steven Gerrard and is currently dominating others in the team. He has pledged his loyalty to Liverpool and is there for another season even though the Reds finished
seventh in the Premier League last season.
But, the player's form seems somewhat inconsistent as he has recently been bombarded with numerous injuries. Torres is also a key player in the Spanish National team and has represented his country in various tournaments.
He scored the winning goal in the 2008 Euro final against Germany and was thus named as Man of the Match. However, he didn't have a good World Cup run this summer as he was not made part of the starting eleven and only came in as a substitute.
-Alessandro Del Piero:
This is an Italian player who is a Juventus legend as he has been playing for the club for almost sixteen years now.
Del Piero is known for his assists, his creativity on the field and also for his goal-scoring. He first made it to the Juventus’ Under- 19 team and from there as the player with the most appearances for the club.
He has made ninety one appearances for his country as well, netted twenty seven goals. Del Piero is the second Italian who has represented his country in seven major tournaments.
Alessandro Del Piero- to this day- remains a loyal Juventus player and the fans love him for that.
-Miroslav Klose:
Klose is a German player who plays for Bayern Munich and has made his way to the team from clubs like Werder Bremen and Kaiserslautern.
He showcased his world-class striking abilities during the 2002 World Cup where he scored five goals for Germany and made them get a place in the finals.
Miroslav Klose isn't amongst the tallest of strikers out there but he still has some amazing aerial abilities and gives excellent headers. He is a technical player and also an amazing goal-scorer. Miroslav started his big leagues' play with Kaiserslautem
and stayed there for five years before moving to Werder Bremen.
He was a success story at Werder but still moved to Bayern Munich in 2007 and from then on, he has had a few seasons at the top of his form. Recently, his form has dipped a little.
He is the second highest goal-scorer in three World Cups, scoring fourteen goals altogether.
-Francesco Totti:
Francesco Totti is an Italian striker who plays for AS Roma and is widely believed to be one of the best footballers of his generation.
He has played for Roma all his life and is the current captain of the team and also one of Serie A’s top goal-scorers. Totti has so far scored a hundred and ninety two goals in four hundred and forty appearances for his club.
The player is known for his prolific skills all over the field. Totti also has had a successful career with the Italian National team and is still a vital part of the squad. He had made a major contribution to Italy's win in the 2006 World Cup.
He wanted to be a part of Italy's 2010 World Cup squad and was selected for the job by Marcello Lippi. Even though he did not score any goals in this endeavour, still his contribution to the team along with his creativity was considered important.
