Roy Makaay then moved to Tenerife and stayed there for two years just to move onto Deportivo. He continued his impressive goal scoring streak and netted ninety six goals in a hundred and seventy one appearances, giving the club its La Liga title in 2001.
He won the European Golden Boot in 2002-03 as he was the top scorer all over Europe. Then came his move to Bayern Munich where he continued his form and was quite consistent while netting a hundred and two goals in only a hundred and seventy eight appearances.
In the end, he moved back to Netherlands to play for Feyenoord and was part of the club for three years before retiring from football. He has had an amazing career and has also played for his National team but was usually left behind when it came to the
likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Patrick Kluivert.
-Wayne Rooney:
Wayne Rooney is a player from Manchester United's squad. He played for Everton before while he also plays for the English national team. He is considered to be one of the best young strikers as his strength, pace, clinical finishing and aerial abilities
are almost unmatched in the Premier League.
Rooney had joined Everton's youth academy when he was just ten years old and at sixteen years of age, he made it to Everton's first team. His performances with Everton made Manchester United sign him for twenty five million pounds.
He has definitely grown as a player and under the supervision of Sir Alex Ferguson, he has scored numerous goals for United. He has so far made two hundred and eighty seven appearances for the Red Devils and has scored a hundred and thirty seven goals for
them.
Wayne Rooney is an important part of the team and even though he has some off-field issues, he is still one of the best players in the English Premier League. The player has also become a regular in the Three Lions and has sixty seven appearances with them,
scoring twenty six goals. He has taken part in some major tournaments that include the 2006 as well as 2010 World Cups.
-David Villa:
This is the star Spaniard from the 2010 World Cup who currently plays for Barcelona. He has gone through clubs like Sporting Gijon, Real Zaragoza and Valencia.
David Villa was signed by Barcelona in the summers for around forty million Euros and this was considered to be a bargain price. This speaks for the kind of player that Villa is. He has given some amazing performances in the 2010 World Cup.
Villa joined Gijon in 2001 but left them for Real Zargoza in 2003. He proved to the world that he was out of place in clubs like these so he was signed by Valencia in 2005.
The Spaniard was a fruitful player for Valencia as he scored a hundred and twenty nine goals in two hundred and twelve appearances. He moved to FC Barcelona in the summers and now desires to win major trophies with the club.
Also, Valencia is going through a financial crisis right now. Even Zlatan Ibrahimovic was loaned out to AC Milan and now David Villa is the main striker for the Catalans.
He has also been a radiant player for the Spanish national team and was the highest scorer in the Euro 2008 as well. At present, he is only tied with Raul Gonzalez for the highest goals in favour of Spain and plans to break that record. He only has sixty
eight appearances for La Roja and has scored forty four goals.
