The Declining players in the world of football – Part 1
With the season nearing culmination, we have been treated with some absolute gems of players who have shown tremendous growth since last season. However there are some great players who have fallen both in form and confidence. Naturally it comes as a disappointment
to see some fantastic players display a poor run of form. The good part is that some youngsters have stepped up to the plate to cover up for these deficiencies.
The players that I have put in this list are in my opinion the ones who have seen a decline of form and have had an extremely poor season. This in no way means that they are done for, as it’s just a momentary dip in form and I’m sure they’ll come out of
this slump in the coming season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196:

The influential Liverpool captain has had an ordinary season due to various reasons. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 Fantastic as he is known has only featured in 21 games this season which is by far his lowest since his debut season where he also managed to play 21 games in the famous
Liverpool shirt.

The competitive skipper is seen as a frustrated figure due to the lack of playing time. Injuries have been profound this season and the skipper is currently sitting out the rest of the season due to it.

The times when he has played, he has shown absolute class attributed to a player like him. The hat-trick against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the Europa Cup was evidence of just that. But on other occasions he was seen making rash tackles that a player of his stature and under
the responsibility of captaincy should not be making. The game against Manchester United is a vivid example.

He has been a disappointment this season.
Robbie Keane:

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215 had played brilliantly last campaign but his form this season has been nothing short of a disappointment. It’s extremely difficult to see a player go down like that and so fast. His finishing has been way off the mark and his excellent first touch
has faded away. He has missed so many golden opportunities this season that he would have scored last season.

Saturday night’s sitter against Blackburn in the dying minutes is fresh in the memory.

He looks disjointed and disoriented in West Ham and still is not in the starting line-up and seeing his form this season, no one would dispute. Keane had demonstrated all the qualities of a top notch striker, but this season he has absolutely faded away.

He has been so bad that he in on the verge of a comparison to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020.
Joe Cole:

When it was announced that Joe Cole had agreed to a move to Liverpool as a free transfer, the fans were ecstatic and it was termed as the “steal of the year” because of the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694 was a top quality player with a multitude of skills.

A red card on his debut for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 wasn’t the start he was expecting in a Red’s shirt. With the passage of time, his performances became worse and his form saw a free fall. The Red’s missed his excellent goal scoring ability when nothing was going right
for the club.
