The Democrats and women's issues.?

Many people say that the Democrats are strong in regard to women's rights and issues. Abortion rights, equal pay etc... But what gives with a women's right to an even playing field in the primary and election process? Hillary, the most powerful woman on earth, was counted out and drummed out of her rightful position on the Democratic ticket...I guess the Democratic party only goes so far in regard to women's rights..Even though I'm a registered Democrat, I still don't know how I'm going to vote. I've felt strongly about women's rights all my life...and to quote Shakespeare: "Something is rotton in the state of Denmark." when it comes to women's rights and the Democratic party. Male egos seem to come before the good of the party and Hillary's 18 million voters. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this....Thanks.

  1. 18 Million votes is impressive however when you caout the caucuses and all the vote Obama had more, and the nomination was about winning th delegate race which Obama also did. I love Hillary but the palaying feild was actually level they both campaigned, debated, and ran ads to make their case and Obama was able to edge her out. Think about this;

    1. If she had won and all the Obama supporters abandoned the election and the party as you are going to do what would you think of

    them?

    2. If you really do support equl pay for women, abortion rights, halthcare, education, and the other ideaology of the democrats. How can you stand on the sideline and allow McCain and Palin get in office, they are againg everythig Hllary and Obama stand for, Pro-life, teach creationism in schools, more tax cuts for the wealthy, I know I don't want them  to pick the next three supreme court justices.

    You have to do what you want but realize that if you elect to stay on the sideline, or support McCain because Hillary did not win you will be in part responsible should McCain win and inpart responsible for the consequences of his administration you will have no right to complain regardless what he does because you will be part of those that put him in office.

    I empathize with your disapointment with your favorite candidate not winning but in no way do I relate to what purpose it serves to get McCain elected and punish the nation.

    Good luck whatever you decide to do.

  2. Why should a powerful women or any woman continuously clean up man's mess....It's time they learn to clean up after themselves.Then we as women will keep it clean, comfortable, and safe for all....Blessings Yahoo

  3. Your are right. Look what they have done so far. Hillary's chances at being President were squashed, then she wasn't even considered being on the ticket for V.P. Now the Republican V.P. is being bashed because she is a woman. I think they want all woman bare foot and pregnant in the kitchen. Republicans don't think this way.

  4. I used to be a Democrat when they were for equal rights.  Increasingly, their talking points lack any philosophy at all.  You can sum them up by saying, "We are against anything the Republicans are for", and "We are for anything that will get us elected."  I'm really tired of them arguing both sides of an issue, depending on who is proposing it.

    The party has really lost it's focus.

  5. They talk a good talk, but can't walk the walk.  It is horrible the way Hillary was treated.  Sexism is alive and well in the Dem party, but they will all call racism very quickly.  Of course they love Hillary now--she is Obama's #1 cheerleader.   ***

  6. The VP slot was never her "rightful position".  If she had become the nominee, would you say that the VP slot was Obama's "rightful position"?  I seriously doubt it.  A number of factors go into selecting a VP running mate, not just who came in second.  Using your logic why then didn't McCain pick Romney or Huckabee as his VP?

    Hillary came in a close second in a hotly contested race that could have gone either way.  I can't think of a better example of equality.  Others apparently can't see it simply because they didn't get their way.
