The Dems are supposed to be the party that promotes equal opportunities for women and minorities, but the Repubs actually do something about it. Think about Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Sara Palin, etc. I think the dems just pander for votes, what do you think?

  1. The republicans are the ones that keep bringing more of the same. Democrats represent change and Obama should be our next president to finally bring change

  2. You think that because you know little about Politics. Those you named are all Republicans under George Bush.

Whoever wins  as President will choose the parties who will work with them in achieving their goals.  Just keep watching the progress especially after the President takes office.

  3. Repubs last 8 years change for the worse...

  4. Let's see .......Our country's economy was at a surplus during the Clinton Administration. Our economy went into a huge deficit during the Bush Administration. Hmmmm, you tell me. No one's arguing with you about Republicans be able to make change!

  5. Yes if you really look at their party objectively you can see that they only pander to these groups. They have no concern for them, they are just stepping stones to further their agenda.

  6. I think you said it very well. McCain just took the promise of change away from Obama. This would be an enormous change. A WOMAN who is known as honest, and goes after corruption in a non partisan manner!!!!  WAHOO!!!!!!

  7. ROTLMAO !!!

The US economy, the price of gasoline, our national security, and our image abroad have steadily cratered during the past 8 years.

The only change is that rich have gotten richer while the poor have just gotten old.

  8. The only thing the Republicans have done is change your economic status .. from middle class to struggling.. living in a house to an apartment or your family outsourcing your employment to unemployment, Changed your food cost from 50 to 100 dollars.., changed your paying for gas to now paying for food so you cannot go to work.. but changed exon's profits from 11 billion in on year to 11.8 billion in one quarter...changed the surplus to now trillion in deficit,, Yelp sound like wonderful changes to me..let us vote for 4 more years of this change.. sounds wonderful..

  9. There are a lot more females and minorites in the DNC. And you republicans just dont get it. Just because you throw a token person in there doesnt make it change. If any of you republicans actually listened to Obama speek you'd see that the change he talks about is the failed policies in Washington.  What about Janet Reno, Geraldine farraro...all long before republicans.

  10. I think you're on to something by making a good point. On a personal level and just observing all sides of the candidates and the affiliations, I have gone from democrat to republican because Hillary Clinton shoved it so far down the path for me, that I was completely disgusted. I can understand the Anti-Clinton arguments now- even though I had the respect for her and the family, but times are changing and quite frankly, I see something more  going on with this election than past ones.

  11. If you have to count them... that says something in and of itself.  The Dems are diverse.  The GOP is not.

  12. Who panders to the religious right wing?

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK

She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK

I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.

  13. The Dem party is the party of "good 'ol boys" and now corrupt Chicago style politics.

  14. I agree.

  15. because repubs are asses and lie about what they do so uhhhhh

  16. Sorry, dude...the Dems want change for the better!... the Repubs want more for the ultra rich. There are more women and blacks in the Dem party than the Repubs.

  17. That's because only one party still believes in capitalism while the other can't get it.

democracy rules! except who else in the world would know it? Seriously?
