Unfortunately it means that they don't have to pay luxury tax. So their payroll is stabilized for this season. They really got nothing out of the deal so you could really see they were desperate for some financial relief. I think they expect Nene and Kevin Martin to be adequate in the front court. They still might go after JR Smith (If they haven't already reacquired him) but otherwise this is a clear sign the Nuggets are looking to rebuild around Carmelo Anthony which kind of sucks for an aging AI who hasn't been able to win a championship in Denver.

No, they don't have any cap space.  Instead, they won't have to pay so much on the luxury tax.  It was a horrible deal for the fans of Denver.  Here is a post I did about it:

The first guy was right they still don't have a cap space because the Nuggets are above the luxury tax which means they are way above the salary cap. They just did that trade to relieve themselves from the luxury tax but still above from the salary cap

i think right now they are in sub rebuilding mode; they now see that allen Iverson was not the answer for making the Nuggets an elite team.  Now I think that they are waiting for Iverson to retire or have a smaller contract as in money.  In 2010 there will be a lot of big names like lebron that the Nuggets might want to sign.  Since acquiring Iverson the Nuggets are still over the Cap but they don't have much luxury tax to pay.

By the way i think letting Najera go and trading away camby for basically nothing will make the already defensively weak Nuggets even more weak, so much that they will have a hard time defending the elite teams in the NBA such as Boston, Lakers, Hornets, and now the HOUSTON ROCKETS.

They are going to keep getting rid of cap space of guys like A.I and K Mart but keep Nene he is still relatively young. So this trade could work.
