The Depo Provera Shot?

Do you HAVE to be in ur period to get the shot? (You also can get it a few days after ur period) but Can you still get the shot if u havent had ur period for the month yet?

Um, I think so. I don't remember that being a problem, but maybe I just happened to have a recent period both times?

I've started it twice (took a break while single) and I was given the injection right away both times.

The first time I went on Depo, I did not have my period for the month. I spotted for several months, constantly, after that shot.  The 2nd time I went on depo, I had just given birth, and my body was "super clean". I never had my period, except for minor spotting, when I was late on my shot, for 6 years. I don't think it matters whether you had your period for the month, but I would suggest waiting, as it seemed to be a lot cleaner and less frustrating when I started it after my uterus was clean. Don't know for sure, but that's my experience.
