The Double Helix by James D. Watson...?

I need to write a persuasive essay on The Double Helix by James D. Watson. I have to pick a topic from the book, and write about my opinion. I have not finished reading the book; however, so far I have not found anything that is a potential topic.

If you don't understand what I am asking for, here's an example: another book I could have chosen for my class is The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. If I wrote my essay on that book, the obvious topic would be to argue for or against evolution.

So I need a topic that I can argue, that pertains to The Double Helix.

Any ideas are welcomed. Thank you!

i dont know the book, but thats DNA right?did you know, we origionally had 12 stranded DNA?

My idea is to ignore people like Radi O and follow the evidence to the truth without preconceptions, such as " argue for or against evolution. " There is no true argument against the observed fact of evolution. There is no evidence that supplants the theory of evolution by natural selection.

Perhaps you should write something about Watson's recent very racist statements to the British press...I would contrast his statements with what is known about DNA (ie race does not exist).  Another option would be to write about contributions to the advancement of DNA from a particular female researcher at Cambridge who got no credit despite laying the entire foundation.  A final idea is write something on the concept of "beauty" in biology.  As you know from they (VERY SHORT) book, Watson and Crick were obsessed with the idea that DNA, the building block of humanity, had to have a beautiful structure and the double helix gave them that.  This can be compaired with ancent greek and renaissance ideas of beauty in the human form and in nature.
